The Fiat 1500 or Millecinquecento is a mid-sized 4 door sedan produced by Fiat from 1961 to 1967 with South African examples manufactured at Durban Motor assemblies as CKD kits The Fiat Millecinquecento featured a lightweight body with Corvair influenced styling, a longitudinal front mounted engine, rear wheel drive and 4 speed all synchro gearbox.
Power is from a 73 BHP 1500cc 4-cylinder engine with alloy cylinder head and overhead valves, fed by a double-barrel carburettor. The Fiat 1500’s also featured front disc brakes which was a standout feature at the time versus the competition.
Period road tests described the Fiat 1500 as “A Fast Italian Family Car of Exceptional Merit”
This Fiat Millecinquecento is a 1963 model with a sable floor shift conversion (originally column shift). It is registered and licensed (RC1 reflects built up) and is in very good condition with superb turquoise interior appearing to be original to the car with new carpets fitted
