Description by seller:
Mileage indicated by the odometer can't be verified. This car was owned and rallied by the Muhl brothers of Rustenburg and won the South African Rally Championship title in 1961, 1962 and 1963. Have a look for pics of a TRB 9 number-plated Auto Union in your old Car magazines or SCC Newsletters.
It has since moved through a few hands and has been with the current owner for a dozen or so years. True to its rally pedigree, it is not a show car or trailer queen, so the body (although not rusty) has a few scrapes and paint issues. The trim is all still there and very presentable – even the original lockable fuel filler cap and pedestal-mounted reflectors are present. The 6-volt electrical system is still in place and operational but while the glass light lenses are in good condition, the plastic ones have a few age/sun-related cracks.
Papers are in order and show 'Used/Gebruik' as the status.
This car is available to view by appointment in Johannesburg.
