For the 1990 DTM season, Audi developed a special car, the V8 Quattro. Equipped with a 3600cc V8 engine for 420 horsepower, the V8 Quattro achieved eight victories in its debut year. For the following seasons, Audi continued the development of the V8, with the evolution 1991 and evolution 1992 versions. In the late 1992 configurations, the power had risen to 464 horsepower.
