Towards the end of 1981 and running into 1982, Porsche commemorated 50 years of the founding of the Porsche Design Company by Ferdinand Porsche Senior, by producing a limited run of just 200 versions of the Porsche 911 SC, known as the 911 SC Ferry Porsche Special Edition Coupe. Of the 200, just 70 were Targa versions.
