This Kombi was purchased new by Sappi, who the owner’s dad worked for at the time. It was soon stolen and then recovered but, in the meantime, insurance had already paid out so the current owner got the option to buy it (circa 2000). It is thus police stamped in an ugly way, but for 20 years it has acted as a run-around-do-everything car. It’s now done 212 000 km but is in good mechanical and cosmetic shape – not pin-straight, but clean and original. It could do with a fresh set of rear tyres (plenty of tread but showing cracks) and a clutch adjustment or new cable, but that’s about it (see details in the grading form). It was recently driven up to the Pilanesberg without sweat following three years of being parked up during Covid. Being a 5-cylinder 2.3 it’s a lot more drivable than the old flat 4s, and hugely versatile.
